Marquise Classic Earrings in Ruby & Emerald - www.teresat.com

Today i recreated a pair of the classic marquise earrings you will find on my website, www.teresat.com.
Currently these marquise earrings are shown hand wired with a beautiful emerald rondelle. I want to make them available also in ruby and sapphire rondelles. I intend to complete a sapphire pair tomorrow, &; shall show you next time i photograph. Here at left, you can see the ruby rondelle i made today. I have used a gorgeous, faceted ruby rondelle, measuring about 4mm. This is African ruby that has a slight blueish tinge when seen on the strand, or in a cluster. The gold and silver marquise shape hangs about 2" from just below the earring post. I have actually made this earring slighter shorter than first shown on the website. (here above at right)  I personally prefer long earrings but have had to learn that not everyone else does! I actually also prefer ear wires to ear posts; but listening to the faithful, has again taught me otherwise. I am happy to create the style of how you enjoy wearing any the earrings you will find on www.teresat.com, shorter, longer, ear posts or ear wires. You may request your custom look by contacting me via the website.

Needless to say, it is possible to handwire any precious or semi-precious gem the heart desires onto any shape one also desires!  but as a solitary jewelry designer creating custom - & not mass produced pieces - it would be quite impractical for me to do this! However, coming up soon are my teresat signature hand wrapped circles; featuring earrings & pendants. The finished pieces are with ms courtney steffens, photographer extraordinaire, as i write and my amazing website guru ms t manacek, shall be performing her technical jiggery pokery next week! I, for my part will need to attach monikers to all new pieces ... and hope for the best!  I'll keep you all posted!

www.teresa.com trio of evil eyes

i have thousands of tiny semi-precious beads. i love my rondelles! i decided to use some of them with a collection of evil eye pendants i also have in my collection. two of the pictured 18" necklaces here are in mult-colored stones & the third in peridot & citrine. i have accented this little trio with nuggets of gold vermeil and an extender of a couple of inches of delicate vermeil chain (so, up to 20" in length), at back.
the 'evil eye' is a mediterranean/middle eastern concept. we europeans are more familiar with its imagery on our hols (vacations) to the med(iterranean) countries of turkey or the islands of greece. further into the middle east such as israel &lebanon.  however, visitors to mexico may have also come across the 'mal de ojo' on their travels south of the border.  the evil eye in these & many cultures are seen as an amulet, lucky charm or talisman. they are in essence, used to deflect the negative or envious glances or looks of others - whether their glance is deliberately negative or not. babies at birth are given evil eyes as gifts; tied to their cribs or blankets.  western designers now are using these mysterious charms in their designs - such as teresat!  some in simple beads and others in fabulous blue sapphire & diamond creations! hmmmm, just imagine!  i shall show you other 'eyes' i have also almost ready, that are wonderfully sparkly - cz's & crystals actually, not diamonds & sapphires alas... but near enough in appearance!

multi-colored tourmaline, turquoise, moonstone,  freshwater pearl, emerald, tanzanite, labradorite, peridot,

Posted by Picasai shall be putting these up shortly on www.teresat.com as soon as i can get hold of ms c steffens; as you know my amazing photographer! these colorful, meaningful, full of fun beauties will be available very soon for you to closer peruse and even purchase if you like!

turquoise & lapis earrings teresat.com

i absolutely love to blend colors! one of my favorite blends is turquoise and lapis.  i made these earrings today and they are so fresh, fun & fabulous! given it's full name, 'lapis lazuli' is also known as the 'stone of the ancients'.  egyptian priests named it 'the stone from heaven'; it was considered an amulet of healing and power.  the intense blue of lapis is speckled with golden strands of pyrite.  artists in the middle ages ground the stone and used it in paintings. think beautifully hued skies and seas.

I  also created a small pendant in the same color blend, but this with a turquoise nugget and using a similar lapis briolette, with a hammerd gold cap.  i have also introduced a wee gold nugget bead & placed the three pieces on a fine vermeil chain.  of course all the above are available in silver earwire & chain.  i also love to blend  turquoise with purple and pink with orange!  i shall introduce pieces showing these color blends over the next weeks and onto the www.teresat.com website in timely manner!  these pieces will be in the $100 and under range.

www.teresat.com pearl bracelets

There are several hand wired bracelets on my online store, www.teresat.com, and more to come of course.  pearls are immensely popular; they never seem to go out of fashion.  we can wear them dressed up or down. teresat's signature NYMR (notyourmothersrosary) is handwired using beautiful shell pearls; the bracelets use a variety of pearls. different shapes, sizes and types of pearls. The triple strand white pearl i created for Nathalie, is an example of a teresat one-of-a-kind custom bracelet.  this particular beauty has swarovski crystal accents, fresh water pearls, crystal encircled baroque shaped pearls and a pretty crystal encrusted  initial. finished with sterling silver bar clasp; this design is also available in gold tones as seen above. this one with tiny 'button' pearls and larger beads encrusted with even tiner seed pearls. you can just see the freeform natural pearl i have also used here.  just gorgeous!
A very different look is this 'cuff bracelet' (below).  the central huge cabochon is a vintage opal glass bead found in Europe, where the ornamental glass bead industry originated. i have hand wired this piece using large glossy white shell pearls and have used textured glass vintage beads on each side of the centre. you can hardly see it here but on top of the clasp here is the shape of a bee, raised in gold atop of a silver base! very sweet! one of teresat's loyal ladies fancies this creation in other color tones that i am currently sourcing from Europe.  takes a couple of weeks, but it will be worth the wait!  ms s has requested a brown opal central cabochon with tonal accents used in the side beads. i have suggested using gold pearls to complete this rich, warm look.  i'm looking forward to creating it, and sharing it with you!

Emerald Green Onyx Hoops - www.teresat.com

wmicro faceted emerald green onyx hoops

Remember i mentioned the hoops & pendant i had hand wired in the signature teresat style the other day? the very same set the divine ms M had coveted the moment she saw them?! well here they are -photgraphed against the shrubbery!  Not as fabulously photo-ed as those by ms courtney steffens - photographer extraordinaire - but i think you get the gist!  so here we have in the first photo, medium (about one & half inch) hoops, mico-faceted emerald green onyx are hand wired with gold filled wire.  Pretty tiny faceted beads of about 3mm.  This onyx is absolutely dazzling 'in person' as you say; the 'micro' part of faceting means that the cutting/faceting of each individual bead is very precisely done.  the result is a beautiful shine, where each bead reflects light off each angle of the faceted angle.  As i personally prefer earrings that dangle, i always tend to design my first pair in a longer style; the pair shown measures about 2 inches.  Many of my customers prefer them with say, one link above the hoop, attached to an earwire or post. Or perhaps a shorter chain to make the length say, 1 and half inch.
the second picture shows the earrings with matching circle 'O' pendant.  This pendant is shown on a long (32") gold filled chain.  at times, i have also attached this the 'O'  pendant to a 17 inch chain which lies with dramatic effect, below the collar bone.  the teresat.com online store will soon feature these signature pieces in a variety of colors.  The 'O' pendant looks fabulous layered in 2 or 3 pieces, showing different colors.  I mainly use precious rondelles such as emerald, sapphire, ruby or semi-precious such as labradorite, moonstone, smoky quartz, peridot... the list is endless.  Great idea for birthday month colors; a gift for a friend or yourself.  Thank you for recent orders through the teresat.com online store. please pass the good news on to your galpals and friends. it is much appreciated! enjoy your weekend - all of you!
